High Point of the Day: Casper!
Absolutely the high point of the day was holding, in my arms, in the sweet amazing June afternoon, the baby, ten days old, brand new Casper. Oh my goodness, he is so sweet and beautiful and amazing! He just slept. He seemed really exhausted. He’s been on a big, big trip…… I love him already and love that I will have known him, always now, since he was ten days old. He really seemed much older–not ancient or wise, actually, not some old lost soul or anything dramatic. He seemed about….six. An extremely pleasant and thoughtful young person. I’m so happy he is here! Congratulations S and J! and Welcome Casper! Casper? Casper! I love you and you are big!

“I love you and you are big!” needs to go on the wall over his crib….
Such beautiful thoughts here, such a generous welcome. I love that you will have known him from his 10th day forward as well! (”Now you won’t remember, Casper, but there was this one day looooong ago when you were taking the biggest nap and we sat on the back porch in all this sunshine and that’s where you met your Auntie Heather….”)
