High Point: FIELD MAGAZINE

Dec 14th, 2009 by admin in Writing

“Woman without a man with a bicycle without a fish” is accepted in the spring issue of Field Magazine

I wrote this poem in Molly Peacock’s wonderful workshop at the Westchester Poetry Conference. And Field is my favorite poetry magazine.  A lovely unexpected high point on a misty dark day edged with insomnia and leaks.

  • Way to go Heather! Congrats.

  • Yay, Heather! That’s amazing. Did you revise it a miniumum of nineteen times?

I just reread In our Time by Ernest and started this book of collected stories called Between the Assassinations by Aravind Adiga and was thinking about our class. If you have some time, I think you’d like Between the Assassinations. It’s layered and culturally interesting with great character development through interaction. Hope life’s well in snowy Holland.

  • Hi, Heather. Congratulations. I know what a thrill that must be. Field is superb. Can’t wait to read the poem.
