A Really Great Day

A day that was back to back high points! I have a bad cold courtesy the Navy boot camp graduation ceremony, and cold rainy days in desolate cranky weirdly charming Waukegan, but every hour, a high point.
1. Alfredo said he loved my talked at CIS and it was so lovely to be read to, my reading was just what he needed.
2. Jessica said she loved the talk.
3. A dozen red roses and a poem from Octavio Paz on my porch!
4. Organic veggies from Tammy on my porch.
5. The magical soup from Jackie.
6. A call from DJ in Afghanistan!!!!
7. An email from my stepson Jacob: the food is good, crab every day.
8. The book from Annie! Art in our pockets!!!
9. The funny vintage pringle poodle sweater from Ebay on my porch, with the veggies and the beautiful roses…less odd and more cute than expected, but plenty odd!
10. A call from my client, C., saying what it all means to her….!!!
11. And Zeitoun. Wow. What a book. I stayed up all night reading it and it was with me all day in the background, an urgency, a prayer, a warning, and a braid…………………
And then all in between, just goodness and sun, and sweetness and forgiveness and okayness. A break in the Troubles. A holiday of high points. A kind of greatest hits. But not hits, kisses.
