Pollen: Mixed

Apr 29th, 2009 by admin in Writing

Oh allergies to spring. I feel alone. In hating spring. I miss winter. I love winter. Love summer. Not Spring!

Allergies isolate me. My fun friends are on their bikes, gaining strength and speed. I’ll never catch up now.

I can’t go outside and also breathe.

But allergies keep me inside at my desk, in my writing studio. And I have a book to write!  A deadline in one

month, and another book to revise and another book I am writing, it’s taking its own shape, it’s own time.

It reminds me of Lynda Barry’s thing on owning three dogs at once.  Two  is two. But three? It’s really like sixteen dogs.

Plenty to do inside. Seeing allergies as my opportunity. I feel lucky to have my pack of lovely wolves……..
