The one rule of writing is to not bore yourself…

…I’m going to start reading your blog more faithfully. It’s good for the soul.

It might even help me stay accountable to myself. I’m ashamed of my drop-off in creative writing. It’s become a foreign lover that I’m afraid to join in a tryst.

For Christmas, I’m giving my parents a compilation of sorts using my creative writing over my years at Hope. It’s scariest to share it with people who know me the best (unless writing has always been a part of our relationship), but I know that it’s one thing they can’t buy for themselves and it’s giving a part of me.

I need to write more. I’m afraid that I’m losing a large part of who I am because my art (in its many forms) is lacking.

Thank you for “making” me do it. You inspire me. I miss you.
